Princess Bride

Once upon a time at the Reid Castle in Purchase, New York, a beautiful young bride married a handsome prince. The bride asked that the flowers be romantic and elegant, yet understated so as to complement and not compete with the grandness of the venue.

Arrangements of ruffled garden roses of warm whites and pale peach nestled between

small heads of ranunculus and scabiosa, white and blue tweedia, and surrounded by lambs ear, seeded eucalyptus, Queen Ann lace, and blue green succulents, were set in mercury glass compotes, threaded through an ivy laden arch, and gathered into bridal bouquets delivering on the bride's vision.

New York Chic

Christmas in New York is magical. And so was designing the florals for this spectacularly beautiful holiday wedding at the legendary Carlyle Hotel in New York.

Warm holiday elegance and the sweet scent of fresh cedar permeated the grand rooms of the historic hotel that flowed one after the other, like the folds of the bride's sumptuous gown. Arrangements of creamy white rose and larkspur, hydrangea flecked with gold, pops of cranberry red amid a vast variety of evergreen created an ambiance of warm cheer and good tidings for the happy couple.

French Country Affair

Imagine riding a bike through Provence on a fine September day. That was the inspiration for this wonderful bar mitzvah held at the elegant french bistro La Panetière in Rye for a young man who loves biking.

Starting with a rich french country pallette of deep blue and blazing orange, we created an assortment of centerpieces filled with lilies, roses and hydrangea that spilled from the baskets of wrought iron bicycles, climbed their way into elegantly shaped topiaries and weaved themselves into a whimsical miniscape.

Mid-Summer Night's
Dream

When the rain slashed down we brought the garden wedding at the idyllic Chappaqua Kittle House, indoors.

A thousand rose petals lined the long white carpet, ending in an intimate ring surrounding the bride and groom that stood before a wrought iron arch laden with cascading blooms. Flowers were placed everywhere, hydrangea, garden roses, hypericum, larkspur, stock, dusty miller, italian ruscus, and veronica, The room was aglow with candelabras of iron lace, silvery lanterns, mercury glass candlesticks and votives.

Bloomin' Bride

Cherry blossoms in the month of October? This year there were. At The Views At Mt. Fuji just over the bridge. An emotionally significant element for the bride, delicate dendrobium orchid blooms were fastened to graceful branches of curly willow to simulate the effect. A small flock of tiny white origami cranes alighted on each branch as a symbol of unity between the two families. Tall cylindrical vases offering up a bounty of romantic blooms completed the design, from which the willow seemed almost to break through and reach toward the sky.

"Thank you again – you ladies did a beyond wonderful job. Everyone loved the flowers. I can't thank you enough!"  Our Bride, Amanda, New York

Concept Florals

Florals for the first ever Barnes & Noble (B&N) concept store that opened in Westchester this fall, needed to support the company's vision. As stated by David Deason, B&N VP of Development in a Nov 23, 2016 Journal News article, "This [store] is an effort and commitment to updating what a great bookstore environment should be. The objective wasn’t to be contemporary, it was to be fresh and make it approachable.” Read more...

Using strong bright contrasting color and a rich and varied assortment of delicate blooms, hardy succulents and exotic protea, (which in its Native Africa represents change and hope), Gracefully Done designed simple, fresh and approachable arrangements worthy of the space.

King of the Castle

Well, at least for a day. That was the intent of this 50th Birthday Event hosted at
The Castle in Tarrytown.

Creating a palette that matched the season and the decor, we chose autumn colored botanicals, and set them in masculine, angular planters for each table and station.

Yin-Yang

Twins celebrating their bar and bat mitzvah, were looking to recognize this momentus achievement, both together and individually.

Based around the theme, Yin-Yang, we designed a single planter from two half planters, one painted white, the other black. Signifying how "seeming opposites are interconnected, giving rise to each other as they interrelate." A beautiful and fitting statement as twin siblings take their place in the world.

"I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to use "Gracefully Done" again."  Aimee, New York
